CBD capsules are a convenient way to consume CBD, but how you incorporate them into your daily routine depends on the effects you seek. For overall health benefits, you may want to take CBD capsules at regular intervals during the day. If insomnia is the bane of your existence, you’ll take CBD a half hour or so before your regular bedtime. It may take some experimentation before you discover the best schedule for your CBD use.
One of the useful advantages CBD capsules possess over other methods of CBD consumption is dosage uniformity. High-quality CBD oil capsules contain an accurately measured amount of CBD, so you can feel confident in your dosing. Dispensing your CBD dose from a bottle requires you to count each drop–and it’s potentially a lot messier. And capsules make it easier to stick to your dosing schedule, as they are more portable and simpler to use during the workday.
Get Into a Routine
Incorporating CBD capsules into your daily routine begins with taking them at the same time every day. You probably already do this with vitamins, supplements or medications. If you take medication that could interfere with CBD or vice versa (either prescription or over-the-counter), it’s important to schedule your use appropriately, making sure to have adequate intervals of time between taking the medication and the CBD. Ask your doctor about potential interactions and proper time frames for dosing.
While all you’ll need for swallowing your CBD capsules is a glass of water, you may want to take them with a meal. It won’t hurt to take CBD capsules on an empty stomach but taking them with food may improve their absorption and thus efficacy. Since most people eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a routine of taking CBD capsules with meals means they’re less likely to forget to take them. At bedtime you might take additional capsules to bring on sleep. If you don’t regularly eat three meals a day, find a routine that fits your schedule, or set up reminder notifications on your phone so you won’t forget to take your CBD capsules.
If you take CBD capsules for specific results, such as pain relief, you can incorporate them into your daily routine based on the amount of time the pain relief lasts. For example, to relieve arthritis discomfort, you may want to take CBD capsules in the morning with your breakfast, and again at lunch, dinner, and prior to going to bed. Since you always want to use the minimum effective dose, experiment to see whether your pain relief continues even when you skip that dinnertime dose. If so, you may be able to wait until bedtime. That may not work for you, but this method can give you a better idea of your ideal dosing schedule.
If you use CBD capsules for mood elevation and to combat anxiety or depression, try the same approach. Keep in mind that there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to CBD and symptom relief. Some people will require higher doses and more frequent consumption to achieve a specific result, while others are fine with lower dosages and less frequent consumption. Your needs may also change over time.
